Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the exam date of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Hindi Pradhyapak examination 2020. The SSC JHT New Exam Date has been released by the SSC. The Exam will now be held on 19 November 2020. Pay scale offered by SSC for JHT is different for different levels.

SSC JHT Essential qualifications

  • For postcodes ‘A’ to ‘D’: Master’s degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or Master’s degree from a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level; or
    Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level and Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years‟ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

  • For postcode ‘F’ (Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute): Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master's degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute. or Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master's degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable: Two years of experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institution.


  • SSC JHT Age Limit:
    General: Less than 30 years
    • Age Relaxation: The relaxation permitted for the upper aged candidates, belonging to the following categories:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • PwD: 10 years
    • PwD+OBC: 13 years
    • PwD+SC/ST: 15 years
  • SSC JHT Application Fee
    The payable fee for SSC JHT Application is Rs. 100/-
    Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from fee payment
    BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan are modes of fee payment. 


SSC JHT Exam Pattern 2020

SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) Exam is conducted in both Hindi and English since checking the command of the candidate over their English and the Hindi language is the main criteria for this exam. The exam pattern of Paper-I and Paper-II Exam is given below:

SSC JHT RESULT

SSC JHT RESULT will be released after a month of the SSC JHT Exam.

  • Minimum qualifying marks in SSC JHT Paper-I and Paper-II are as follows
  • UR: 30%
  • OBC/ EWS: 25%
  • All other categories: 20%

Tentative Answer Keys will be released on the Commission’s website after the Examination. Candidates may go through the Answer Keys and submit representations, if any within the time limit given by the Commission through on-line modality only, on payment of Rs.100/- per question.
