Indian Railways has decided to adopt Computer based Test for the notified vacancies. The computer based test initiative is taken keeping in view the safety due to COVID-19 situation in the country. Indian Railways department will hold the CBT in accordance with the social distancing guidelines laid down by the State and Center authorities.  The Computer based test system will be effective from 15th December 2020. Indian Railways earlier had notified 3 different types of vacancies for NTPC clerks, Steno and track maintainers. The official notification released by Indian Railways stated that there were 35208 vacancies for NTPC (non-Technical clerks and guards) whereas a total of 1663 vacancies were declared for the Isolated and Ministerial categories (Steno). Moreover there are 103769 vacancies for Level 1 posts like track maintainers, pointsmen etc. This year RRB received a total of approximately 2.40 crores applications for various posts under RRB.
